Nice setups and the boats are still sharp looking. I like that. I traded my bass boat back in June and bought a Alumacraft that I am setting up for striper. Hope to get some pictures soon when finished with setting up rod holders. Kellog, I am curious. Is there a reason why you didn't go with the clamp on holder that clamps to the rails on you boat? I was thinking of going that route and was curious if they hold up well or does is it require much maintance to keep them tight and from slipping on the rail?

Poorman I considered using rail mounts, but the rails on the Skiff are 1.5 inches in diameter. The only clamp on rail mounts I could locate were made to fit 7/8 inch and 1 inch tubing. I can set my boat up in many different ways for different kinds of fishing by just changing out the t-bars. And besides that, with the t-bars I can take them off in a flash and just go crusing with no obstructions.

Thanks Kellog, mine are only 7/8", Never imagined your's were that big. I just don't want to buy and install the clamps and they don't hold up. Guess I'll go for it. If it don't work out I will return them.

I have two "T" bars on mine that I use for crappie and also have several "rail" mounts for my rodholders that I use for stripers. Have caught several stripers on the rail mounted rod holders with no problems. Just make sure you tighten them down good to start with.

What do you mean it's not in "Crappie Mode?" That thing is a full blown freighter!

Driftmaster has clamps for 1" rails with 3/8 and 1/2 thread for rodholders and/or T-Bars. That's what I use on my Carolina Skiff.

Kellog, I am not sure but I believe I saw a speck of dust on that Skiff. Then again it might just be my eyes. You sure have got it looking good.

Thanks Poppop. I cleaned her up good for a trip to Alabama. My wife has family that have a house on Lake Harding. Leaving tonight and plan to fish tommorrow night with FalconSmitty of the Georgia Forum. Hope to bring some nice filletsfrom Harding. Plan to bring Crappie and Striper fillets home. The limit on Harding for Stripers is 30 fish per day with only 6 allowed that are over 16 inches. FalconSmitty said that they bug the heck out of you while trying to Crappie fish. Sounds like a problem I could get used to. Plan to target Styripers a couple of time while down.

PopPop, I am sending you a PM.
