Default Perch Jerkin Norman 04/04/08

Put in at Unity Church Road, went to lucky creek. Had reports that they were snapping in 48' of water. Marked a few fish here and there but nothing to drop anchor about. Moved up to 32' and found a wad of em. Dropped anchor put lines in Adam had a crappie on about 10". Full of eggs and back she went. Back down he goes and comes up with a spotted bass. Throws it back. Sit through rain hoping it doesnt thunder and lighten. Sit it out on the water, no thunder, clouds start to break, wind dies, and off to Davidson Creek we go. Pull up on a perch hole we fished this time last year and piddle around and sure enough we found em. Drop anchor and drop lines and 5min later we have our first perch. Nothing on the HB565 any more. See a fish every now and then and get a nibble here and there. Had a steady pick at em from 7:15- 7:45, at which time we start getting calls telling us about dark red cells on the Doplar heading our way. See nothing and hear nothing. Starts getting a little darker, Adam is finally catching some dink perch after watching me with 2 on at a time some times and tries to convence me to stay just a liiiiiiiiittttttttttle longer until a distant flash of lightening has me pullin lines and anchors up and gets him to scrambling too since it's almost dark, were not overly excited crossing the big water with a storm coming up. Parts of it down there are 7-9 miles across (Lincoln side to straight up Davidson Creen) and eerily, not a ripple on the water. Talk about a calm before a storm.

Kept 8 perch for the frier, let a few go that I we forgot to take out of the system that were too small to fillet.

That is one rough lake when it wants to get that way.
