Took Zachary to a farm pond on Wednesday morning for some early bass and then some crappie fishing. Fished for bass the first hour with only a couple small bites and no hook-ups. Thought the water temps would be higher, but I guess it's still a little early yet. Put the bass rods away and set out crappie rods on our 10' john boat and started trolling jigs and minnows. Caught a couple quick ones and then on and off for a couple hours. Ended with 32 for the day in two hours. Mostly tater chips, but he wants me to take out as many crappie as we can to hopefully get some larger ones to grow. Biggest one today was about 10 1/2". Water was 55.7 and didn't move. Wind blew steady and changed directions alot. Underdressed for the conditions, so we were ready to get off when we did.
