spur of the moment went to the rock on the demand to get some fresh crappie

ill never complain about that.
it was either High rock where i know i could wear em out, or Norman where i MIGHT catch 2 lol no brainer off to the rock i went. no one aroudn wanted to go so i went solo.
put boat in water at 12:30 and thought for sure i made a mistake! she was whitecapping out there. the wind was blowing perfect right down the throat of 2nd creek. found 500 yds of water that was "somewhat" shielded from the wind so that was my only option. had boat on the trailer at 4 sharp with 20 keepers and probably released another 30. keepers for the most part were the 9-11 inch variety. i wanted some whole fryers sooo in the well they stayed. had 5 that went over a pound and 2 in the 1 1/2 lb range. today i probably caught more 3-4 inch fish then i have in all of my 10 trips to high rock combined.
highlight of the day was the personal best Channel Cat that i caught. i thought for sure i had a potential state record, but she came up a few pounds short. almost 15 1/2 pounds it weighed....record from what i heard was in the 18 lb range. shes still out there swimming today! damn good fight on 4 lb line going with the wind

thank goodness for rods that can handle big fish, cause if it was an ugly stick, i might of never got it in
anyways water temp was steady at 56 degrees, and caught all long line trolling. very few on the spider rig today. they ate up anything chartreuse today! any other color they just looked at. trolled over 16-20 ft of water.
