Default Stagecoach, Penny's Bend, or Red Mill?

Greetings,

Has anyone been to these holes since Wednesday? I'm curious to hear if the whites have begun to run due the heavy rain we had since Sunday. Also, if you have been to Red Mill, are the crappie still biting? This was my first year fishing the Eno at Red Mill and someone told me that when the whites come in the crappie vacate. I would just assume that they go to Falls to spawn, but I don't know.

Anyone?

Good luck, y'all,

kev

Default they got to be there

The white bass have been around Pennys bend for several weeks now. You just had to walk a ways down river to find them. For sure, the fish should be thick in the river now after this rain. Even the BIG OLE FEMALES.. This has held true every year after a good rain. You should be able to fish there at the parking lot and catch all the fish you want EARLY in the mornings. The same should hold true for Stagecoach. The Wite Bass run should last up to the 1st week in May at Pennys Bend depending all on the weather, so you have plenty of time to get into em real good one day. I would say that this weekend would be a GREAT time to try Pennys Bend. Just BE CAREFULL OF THE SLICK BANKS AFTER A RAIN. It's like walking on ICE in some spots.. I am hoping I will get out Sat or Sunday morning before work to give it a try.

As for the Crappie in the river. I have always packed up my crappie stuff for the year once the Whites show up. I have also been told that they would run the Crappie away???

Good Luck and let us know if you need any more info on the river. I try to fish it several times a week when the whites run so I am usually pretty up to date with a decent report.

BUZZZZ

finattic welcome to the site. The area that they are talking about is located on Old Oxford Road in Durham. Off I85 take 501 north to Oxford Rd and you will follow Oxford to the river bridge and just over the bridge go left on Snow Hill and there is the parking lot on the left. Welcome to Pennys Bend. Stagecoach Road is off I40 in Durham. Take the the 761 exit toward the Jordan Lake and you will see Stagecoach road take off to the right at the first light. The waterfowl impoundment is less than a mile.
