Default Badin 8/1 ton of striper!!!!!

Fished today from daylight to 2 pm. put 25 stripers in the boat... got most between 12pm and 2 pm jigging a 1 oz. strata spoon on the bottom in 35-40 ft. of water. 19 fish came on jigging spoon, the other 6 came on bucktails trolled on leadcore. No huge fish, just average Badin fish, but it was a hell of a day!!!!!

Default jigging

I always have a jigging spoon rod on my boat for situations just like what I found today. A big school of fish held tight to the bottom underneath lots of bait. You could downline for them too, but I think they were inactive and the jigging bite was reactionary. Whatever it was.... it worked good!! I know of some guys that only jig for stripers and they hold their own with all the trollers and live baiters. I talked myself into heading back in the morning again. Weather looks like it will be right, so I gotta go!!!!!!
