    Default Got a few

Hit Otter Lake over the weekend, conditions were terrible, wind made boat control difficult and it was COLD. Still managed to catch maybe 30 crappie. Only one was over 9" , most were 6" to 8", so didn't keep any. Still was fun catching them.

    Also caught a 30" pike, a 2 lb bass, a 3 lb bass, and possibly a head-cold.

Fish were in 5-6 feet of water and must have been suspended because all hits were only 2-3 feet down.

Baits of the day... Pink/chart crappie beaver and black/chart squirmin-squirt tubes. Tubes on 1/32 internal tube heads, beaver on a 1/16 unpainted round head. The black/chart tube caught a few more, but they were close.

Sunday was a steelie day. I got a 24" male. Lots of trout running right now, along with lots of walleye and suckers. It's a shame walleye season isn't open... lots of HUGE fish were being caught (5 to 10 lb-ers).

That's my report for this past weekend. Things are looking up for the season - even with the screwey weather we're starting with.
