Default Brown's Pond - New Windsor

Oh the memories. Brown's Pond is a horseshoe shaped lake with great structure. Depth is no more than 14' and this is part of a reservoir system that supplies Newburgh, NY with water.

The crappies have been left alone for a 10 year hiatus and along with yellow perch, have grown humungous! In Oct., a buddy and I both limited on fish over 11", with a few at 14". We took less than the limit for the pan, but the numbers were over 60 fish between a few schools. Large grubs on 1/16 oz worked almost every cast and just about any proven active crappie bait would have gotten hit. The pattern held for over 2 weeks.
