Went to a small pond up on the hill near Bath NY this morning. Slip bobbers and glow in the dark jigs tipped with wax worms. Had a nice comfortable chair and even with the misty rain... HAD A BLAST! Lots of small gils, 1 tiny perch but at least a Dozen BIG Gils, 9 inches or better and lots of chunky 8 inchers. Going to take my gran son soon now that school s out. He loves to fish.
Took the gran son last night for a few hours, once he got the hang of it did pretty good. He makes me appreciate my Dad and the patience he had with me as a kid. Trying to get Cooper to pay attention to rod/reel and avoid the tangles. Wish he would use push button but HE KNOWS THAT HE LIKES AN OPEN FACE OUTFIT! I now bring extra poles so when I am untangleling one he can fish with another instead of using the one I like to fish with. Now if I could just get him to understand the fish don't bite all the time. He is learning and having a good time, makes me feel good when he thanks me and asks when can we go again!
