Thumbs up Slabs, Gills & a Giant white perch

The weather is sweet and the fishing was sweeter, the day started normal but it didnt take long for things to get crazy! Crappie to 14", big dinner plate Gills and I caught a 15.5" white perch! I never caught a white perch that big on the pond. My Brother , his son and our buddy Phil started out early after being up all night and in no time we where on fish, our first stop of the day and we never left until the bait was gone and the jigs where all tore up. All the fish had good size and had the feed bag on! Tried to find the bullhead tonight but no luck there but it didnt matter. I want to post the pictures but I am having trouble with that, if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. Heading out for steelhead in the morning and then back to the crappie hole to see if we can hit them again, maybe find some more white perch. Fish on all

Fishead,

Didnt hear any turkeys . Nice morning in the woods though. Loads of wood ducks , owls, deer, ect but no turkeys . Kinds amkes me wonder. lots of mud and only 1 set of hen tracks . No real sign at all and its a wood lot thats usually full of birds . Shot lots thru the years there . Senn hundreds last deer season . No feathers near the usual roost spots . makes me wonder about this heavy winter ?? Saw lots on the ride home though .

Did'nt fish the pm but going out in a hour or so to try . heard from a friend a lot of carp moved in the shallows were we get the slabs .I may try fairhaven as well . Who knows . To many choices. Not enough time.

See ya

Took the ladies out today. caught about thirty crappies with maybe 7 being legal. Can't wait until I get my boat from under wraps. I can't get into this shore fishing with 50 other people as I like artificials. hope you guys made out better today than we did.

no crappie this weekend, water's too high on my favorite spots. We did get out for bullhead Friday night - Fair Haven pond. Got 15 keepers and had a nice fish fry Saturday (gonna be having fish for lunch most of the week too).

Where ya getting into the slabs? Fair Haven?

I'm waiting for Parker's Pond to come down a bit and the same for Seneca River. I'm wanting to find a couple more spots close to Cato where I can drop my rowboat in and go after some slabs.

Jim,

Been sick since sunday night.Feeling better now , fished both days last weekend and did fair . Caught 15 , 16 crappie over the weekend . Mostly keepers but some throw backs. Fished This Am and it was a slab fest !Only caught 12 BUT 8 were 13 to 14 inchers with 1 at 15" . I was using an ugly stick and they put a huge bow in it . The thing that was amazing was the guys across from me caught about 25 slabs in less than an hour and I mean SLABS. It was a great morning to be out . I will be after them again. in the morning . I have to get the boat out and go after them on the pond. I have been fishing oneida only so far as it's close to home and I go after work . Oh BTW, water was 44 degrees this morning . Starting to warm now. Get ready its about to really break loose.

See-ya
Don
