Default Not so, my friend !

Howdy !

I'd like to point out that there are a considerable number of fellow crappie anglers here at the NY forum, it's just that many of us take what I would call "extended leaves of absence", if you will.

Since the winters here in Upstate NY are so freakin' unpredictable, and weather patterns leave many of us frustrated, a lot of anglers simply "tune-out" during the winter months -- that period can range from 5 to 8 months,
and this past winter (for example) was almost ice-less !

Personally, I've lived in several locations up and down the East Coast, and
I'll sometimes book on down to Virginia or Tennesee during the winter months, to target crappie in the waters of those states.
I'm not much of an ice-fisherman to speak of, especially not at times when the ice is like it was this past winter --- wayyyy too dangerous !

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll see more crappie anglers show up to this forum as the warmer weather comes into focus.
It makes sense, you see, because if there's little or no activity, there's also very little news to report.

Tight lines, and good luck to you -- don't give up on the NY forum just yet.
The guys (and a few gals) that you WILL find, do a LOT of crappie fishing, myself included. And we LOVE to swap news, tips, and other related info.
