Thread: New to muskie fishing. HELP!

Son in law caught a 30" "ski" on Cave Run this weekend
fishing off a houseboat. He was using a 7" motor oil
worm, texas rigged. He lives 15 miles from Cave Run so
expect to hear a lot more

Up north (Wisconsin) I fish em with big spinnerbaits off
points with deep water. Ocasionally I throw a Suick, which
is an old bait still in use.

Here on Lake Wisconsin I usually don't fish for them, however
have taken many on regular bass plugs while fishing for smallies.

I agree with slab slayn fool about the figure 8 trick. Like he said in his coloumn
green river lake is a great lake to fish also I have caught several 40+in fish here. I throw a jerk bait A LOT. I also throw a spinner bait alot. I don't throw those 10 to 14in baits that often. I use mainly a bait slightly bigger than a normal bass bait.My best fish have come from ledges and point's.

This fish come off a point with a 5in blue xrap jerk bait. Maybe there will be one in your near future.:D

Another WS guy here, like this guy said,big bass baits will get the muskies. I caught a few on a big Rapala--7" or so. Bulldogs are hot now up there. A Mepps muskie killer gots to be part of your arsenal!

a Black tallywacker, Black 10" sinking Suick, Large spinnerbait with copper colorado blade, 6" Grandma in Sucker color!! I have over 150 baits and these are my favorites after 22 years of chasing the beast!
