Thread: 7-26-2006 Lake Independence Musky

My good buddy Stewyfish,and I went to Lake Independence(Hennepin County,Maple Plain Mn) yesterday for a day of crappie, and walleye fishing,and we both hooked into muskies.He landed his,and the one I hooked into broke my 6lb. Fireline like it was kite string.We CPR'd his.He caught it on a perch colored Rapala in 14.5 feet of water.We guessimated the size to be around 38-40 inches.It swam away after about 5 minutes.Here's a pic of the fish,and the release.Never did catch any crappies,but we did boat a few walleyes.
