Thanks for sharing that, Fuzzy. I got an email about a year ago explaining all that. Good info to be aware of!

Good news story. When buying tires, ask the sales person to explain the codes on the tires. If he/she can't tell you, don't buy them. Also, do not buy tires that are stored outside on tire racks. New or not, when stored outside they are exposed to the elements (sun, wind, rain) which dry a tire out rather quickly. People should also have their tires rotated every 5,000 miles to insure maximum and even wear. Tire inflation should also be checked on a regular basis. The newer vehicles which have tire monitoring sensors will trigger a light on your dash when tires are under inflated. It should be noted that as small as 2 pounds of pressure loss can trigger this light. Buy smart, keep them rotated and inflated and you can avoid tons of problems.

Beagle, you would be amazed at the amount of vehicles we get in old and new, where the owners manual is still wrapped in plastic. They are boring to read, but contain a wealth of information on your vehicle

Thanks fuzzy! WoW! Jack I had to read the owners manual to figure out, where everything was located at. LOL I remember getting my first super cab pickup in 1999. I went thru the owners manual to figure out how to get the spare tire down just in case I got a flat tire.
