Default Stolen Fishing Equipment Case Update!

Well I just checked Missouri Case Net on the guy from Peculiar, MO who was charged with stealing the stuff out of Boats last year out of Bucksaw Marina.

It seems his high dollar lawyer out of PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS is doing his job of delaying everything.

On 11/9/2009 he finally had his Arraignment.

But his plea hearing was rescheduled and continued on 1/4/2010 to 2/22/2010

Anyone who wants to look at the case can view it at: https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/base/welcome.do

    The case number is 09CA-CR00958-01

I can't tell if he is out on Bond or not from the information online. So it looks like we are all going to have to watch our stuff at Spring Camp at Bucksaw! I already have 1 wireless security camera hooked up to the RV and I can put another one up in about 10 minutes to watch my boat. Still have enough shells in 9 mm, 357 and 38 specials to hold off a small army.

I guess we all need to do another mass email to Teresa Hensley, Cass County, Prosecuting Attorney to express our concerns about the time this case is taking getting to court. I know I for one never got a reply from my last email to Prosecuting Attorney Hensley. So she don't impress me one bit!

For those of you who don't have her email address it is: thensley@casscounty.com

Her mailing address, phone number and fax number is:
    Teresa Hensley
    Prosecuting Attorney
    Cass County Justice Center
    2501 W. Wall Street
    2nd Floor
    Harrisonville, MO 64701
    Office 816-380-8250
    Fax 816-380-8252

Please for the good of all of us fishermen and fisherwomen we need to keep up the pressure on this case to see that this jerk don't get away with a light sentence. Which I think is going to happen if someone doesn't keep some pressure on the Prosecuting Attorney. Look folks the orginal Grand Jury Indictment was Filed on 10/23/2009. And the first charge of Receiving Stolen Property was Filed on 3/17/2009. None of our stuff at Bucksaw will be safe until this jerk is put away.

I know for one I have enough boat insurance as I increased my coverage on everything before I left to go south to sell fireworks. And the RV trailer is covered good by insurance. But I still have good old time rods in my boat that couldn't be replaced at any cost due to them being out of production. And I would sure hate to see them stolen and then sold on Ebay for nothing.

Has anyone else heard anything on this case? Does anyone else have any ideas on what we can do as a group to get something done?

    Peculiar!!!???

First I've heard of this. Course the KC Star is pretty much eaten up with KC, the ONLY city in MO, and anything concerning Kansas University or Kansas State University. Chiefs and Royals not so much.

I called the Cass County Jail down at Harrisonville, the fellow is not in custody, bonded out. He has a plea hearing scheduled for 0900 Feb. 22, unless his attorney gets it changed again (he's changed it twice already). Old delaying trick, meanwhile he's free.

I will communicate with Ms. Hensley.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Thanks peculiarmike for the update of him being out on Bond! I sure won't feel as safe at Bucksaw or for that manner any marina or lake in Missouri as long as he is out on Bond.

Come on you guys this wasn't my fishing equipment stolen or boat turned loose at the Bucksaw Marina. But we all need to stick together on this and get something done!

Not that Im a huge attorney fan but flooding her computer with emails wont help or speed up the process, in the courtroom the PA is no different than anybody else and takes orders from the judges, remember its the judges that make the ultimate decisions.

believe me in my 18 years in the is job and being in court alot, i can tell ya theres alot more BS than you think that goes on, more than I can say on here, for one I would probably get in sum trouble and for two theres not enuff room and I would get tired of typing:D

remember the ol saying " the wheels of justice turn slow" that aint no SH!!t

Your are right! But we need to do something. And I have also seen the good old boy pay offs in the back rooms of the rural court houses in Missouri too!

Some of these judges need to be voted out of office!

agreed 100 % !!!!!! sad thing is one of our judges has been in office for many years and funny thing is every time hes up for re-election nobody ever opposes him.

but I do applaud you for wanting to get involved and do something, it happens too many times where most people want to sit back and B!tch and moan and complain about the cops, lawyers, judges and the system but wont do a damn thing to do anything about it.

heres an example,,one time many years ago as a roookie i was dispatched to a bar fight,,mind you theres about 80 people in this bar, when we started questioning everybody about what happened,,,,,each and everyone had the same story,," I didnt see sh!!t I was in the bathroom" which was the size of a very small broom closet Nice!!!

if anything I`d be puttin the pressure on the judge,,not too much as to piss him off but enuff to let him know more than a few concerned (VOTERS ) ARE WATCHING

Doesn't hurt to call the Prosecutor's Office and bring up the case, voice your concerns. And I will. Ya gotta remember the "Presumed innocent" part too.
But things do grind exceedingly slow. And all the angles get played.

And boys sometimes it is the hotest fire that gets the water too! Glad I having the chance to talk with 2 people who really do all the work! LOL stepson just quit Jackson County, KS S.O. after 5 years to go to Branson to become a city officer! He said it was for love, getting married July 10. I said not enough love to deal with Branson traffic!

We have PA in Hickory County that couldn't win a case in private practice in small claims court. And the morons keep putting votes in the box each time.

The PA in our county is a FABULOUS one! I could be just a wee bit prejudiced as he's my older step-son. He's not running for re-election, though as he plans to run for Judge next time around.

You couldn't pay me enough money to do either of those positions.
