Well we "HOOKONFISHIN" (Sam) put in at Crabtree this morning at 6:15 this morning. Fished the cove south of there first with nothing. Went to Price Branch and fished there. Fished shallow, deep, tree's, open area, everything. Tried jigs, minnows. cork, everything and never got a bit. Fished for about 4 hours. Gave up, went back to the ramp, still not another truck or trailer in the lot. Went to Highpoint and parking lot was full. Parked in the grass. Fished south of the ramp and picked up seven nice keepers going between 12-1/2 and 14-1/2 inches. All fat females. Caught these on minnows or jig and minnow. We just could not pick up any fish shallow. Fish we did catch were all suspended fish 12 to 18 feet deep in 20 to 30 foot of water. Of course it was very windy today. We pulled off the water at 4 p.m.
One of the pictures I've got posted up is for Beagle. I wanted to do one of his poses.
The other is of of Sam.
Well I'm headed to Truman tomorrow morning to go with the Professional OSS. Feel pretty confident he will put us on fish and show us how it's done. I know one thing, I am going to owe him big time for going out in the wind they are calling for. But the good thing is Monty you don't have to worry about running the trolling motor. We will leave that up to Sam. Going to be there at 6 a.m. Can you say leave Springfield by 4:30 at least?
Oh well, I'm sure it will be worth it. Looking forward to it.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
