Chris Carpenter had additional surgeury on his elbow (throwing arm) yesterday.

The team insists he will be ready to go for Spring Training.

Let's hope this is a wake up call that they need to go out and get a Peavy or someone to help anchor the rotation.

But look at the good side - Mulder's gone. Izzy is gone. There's hope.

    Amen to that.

I would love to see carp back in action, and had very high hopes for them this past season when they were hanging around. The rotation just isnt good enough without a another solid pitcher. Lohse isnt going to get it done IMO

Jesus I hope your jokin. Pitching is all we need. Glaus to be somewhat consistant. Ludwick to hit at least close to what he hit this year. I dont think ankiel can cut it either. Anyway, pitching is what we lack, and timely hitting. Well, I guess you could say we lack the 2 biggest things we need. I dont know. We will see next year.

From what I read they are looking to get a ss, not Eck. Also 2nd base since Kennedy was a disaster, and maybe a good bat to put around Pujols. I think getting rid of Grudz. was the wqrst decision in a few years other than Mulder. Things should start heating up at the winter meeting, maybe the Cardinals will actually do something this time since they are free of some salary.
