Default Ranger's out of commission for a bit

Took Barn out Saturday morning to try some different areas.
Put the boat in the water and the trim on the throttle wouldn't work. Trim switch on the motor and the front of the boat work fine.
Strange, boat started just fine. Took off across the lake and noticed the RPM, Speed and Fuel gage weren't working. Stopped the boat and turned the motor off thinking the key was not centered making contact for the gages. Gages didn't come on and now the motor won't start.
Checked fuses and have power to everything except the stuff running off the power through the throttle.
Long story short, didn't do much fishing, but did accomplish some good ole fashion cussin' without blasphemy.

Did catch a few fish, but no crappies.

Interesting part of the trip was putting the camera down to see how my condos have faired through the high water. Found out I need to redesign them as they are laying on their sides. All of them have rolled with the water pressure.

I'll let you know what the redesign looks like after I figure it out.
Nothing makes a Crappie grow faster than almost being caught.

Sounds like a fuse to me. I know a guy who trolled from the Stockton dam to Ruark with his trolling motor because of a blown fuse. Not fun and it took him hours to get back to the ramp.

i would think that's kind-a taking the slow trolling for crappies to the extreme

had the same experience once not a fuse but i run out of gas just past the mile long bridge on the way back to sterrett creek after running above the hwy 13 bridge at Osceola back when i chased those green things,,, sure was dark when i got in and loaded

I discovered the problem just before midnight last night.
The connector between the control box and the ecm had water in it. The male pins on the motor side are all covered in corrosion. One pin was a hardened mass like the slag on top of the lead when you're pouring jigs.

Both ends are sealed and there is an O-ring in between the junction so I have no clue how water got in there unless it was defective dielectric grease or something.

Shouldn't be too expensive but I'll have to get a new male connector and splice it into the the existing wires.

Hope to have her up and running by the end of the week.

Just to add insult to injury, I was replacing the distributor cap and rotor on my Honda and snapped two bolts off flush with receiver. Nope, there isn't enough left to grab onto with pliers. Got a screw extractor today and we'll give her hell tonight.

These things usually come in threes so I'm cringing at what will be next.

One of these days I'm going to be rich and pay people to fix stuff for me.
