So Slayer, is the pattern the same shallow timber fishing a plain jig with a minnow? I've told my buddys about Toronto and showed them the pictures and they are chomping at the bit to get in on the action, I told them maybe in the next two weeks we'll make a road trip.
thanx guy's...stl nightmare yeah it was the same as last weekend. i know this go's against the theory a bit but i have used nothing but an 1/8 oz orange sicklehook with a tube jig tipped with a nibble...color of tube jig did'nt matter...my buddy started out using a 1/32 and i was catching 3 to his one then he went to the 1/16 i still was doing a little better. he moved up to an 1/8, and started catching the bigger one's consistently. don't know if it's a fluke or they like that bigger head or can see it easier. not sure but i did'nt wanna knowsame thing i used last weekend...they were 5-6 down on the timber. even with the water raising pretty good throughout the day saturday they seemed to be 5-6 down
kinda strange. i originally went deeper when we went out sat cuz the water had came up so much and was'nt get'n much...it was pretty tough to feel the bite with those big ol' rain drop's hit'n the rod but we managed, missed several on sat. cuz they would just be there when you lifted your rod but just tough tough tough to feel the bite. tried using a slib bobber, hated it after about an hour. we caught a lot of nice fish on sat. in that massive rain, as FOREST GUMP would say. "i saw rain, going sideway's, i saw rain coming straight down, heck i even saw rain coming up from the ground":D hey CHATT, i believe that is the biggest breakfast burrito i have ever seen.
that was some good food at the ol' tip top...should of stayed and fished in the rain it paid off.

That's AWSOME! I've got to make a trip there in the near future. Those pictures rival the fish at Eufaula in OK and Reelfoot in TN, I think I've been doing a lot of driving for nothing. Those are some amazing fish and to come out of 5-6 feet of water is down right scary! Congrats on the catch and thanks for the tip.
