    Default 16' ft. Ozark Rod

    Product Review time.

I picked up my 16' Ozark Trollin' rod from Ed at camp.
Very pleased with it's performance. Handled a 3 lbs drum really well, so it has enough backbone for a 3lb grenada crappie.

The stiffness falls between a B'n'M PST and B'n'M Capps and Coleman. It feels to be a little bit lighter than the PST.

Nice addition is the extra long handle in the front. Gives you plenty of handle on the rod if you feel the need to choke up.

I'd give it a 9 on a ten scale. Will be a good pole to put in between the PST and the Capps/Coleman in different conditions.

We'll see how it performs head to head during tourney action.

    Good design Tony Edgar!

I'm looking for a stiff lightweight 12' jig pole. I've got a couple 10's but I'm wanting to move up a few feet. It seems the few I've handled over 10' seem to get awful 'whippy'. I know you guys are talking trolling poles but I thought I'd throw this in. By the way my trolling poles (crappie co. USA) are so cheap they almost bend in half when I'm trolling a KY rig with a 1/2oz weight. I just dont troll enough to justify the $ on good trolling poles. These were $15 regular, I got them 2 for $20 at the St. Louis boat show. Thanks- Red

Check out the Sam Heaton B'n'M and the Ozark 12' and see if they are to your liking. I fish the Sam Heatons cuz I purchased them before I was introduced to the Ozark Rods. They are really sensitive and you can slow troll with a 1/2 oz weight if you need to.
I believe if a shad farts next to the line, you can feel it with these rods.
