Some of you guys at camp were talking about yellow line. What brand are you using? I thought it was Mr. Crappie wanted to make sure before I bought some to try.
Mr. Crappie is a good line. Not too costly, either. Use it all the time. Berkley Transition is another that actually turns yellow in sunlight.
I use Mr. Crappie and Stren the Stren is not as strong however it is smother. Oh and costs alot more.
Mr. Crappie:D
I am a stren original clear blue user. Have tried quite a few others and keep going back to it. I will give the mr. crappie a try.
I use stren and suffix elite. I like suffix better than stren. My 2 cents.

I like suffix elite or gamma when I use mono (slip float fishing or casting jigs), Power Pro or Suffix braid (can't tell the difference) for vertical jigging. Mono seems to slip through the floats better than braid...and I'm usually above the snags when slip-floating so don't need the extra strength.
Mr crappie for me....good stuff.

I do swear by yellow, though. I like the Cabelas Ripcord SI in yellow -- 10 pound test, 2 pound diameter. It's got just enough power to straighten a hook when snagged, yet it's very thin. Casts well, too, with a minimum of wind knots.
PowerPro is good, as well (I think they make Ripcord for Cabelas) and I've used the Stren SuperBraid with decent results.
Mono is fine and it sure casts well, but I was just losing too many jigs. The braid has worked great. And I wouldn't crappie fish with any other color line than yellow!

I was thinking the same thing. I need to purchase a couple of light long poles and reels first though. I have a long spinning outfit but it is very heavy. DaveOriginally Posted by Jigging15
