Never hurts to have a third color on the jig.

A lot of the guys on the tour use orange followed closely by chartruese heads.

Nothing makes a Crappie grow faster than almost being caught.

Default I don't know that it really matters either....

I've been using jigheads from Cottonmouth Lures. Nice weight distribution on them that really helps keep the jig level when vertical jigging. That's important to me since I'm fishin' condo docks 95 percent of the time. I think you can find them at cottonmouthlures.com. They're from down near Carbondale, Ill.

I'm using an orange/chartreuse jighead color combo when I fish the white/chartreuse slabbusters, and a black jighead that has a tiny splash of pink on it when I'm fishin' the black/chartreuse 'busters.

That's what's working for me, anyway. Caught 10 last Friday fishin' just part of the day and limted out on Saturday.

I do think they like the lighter (white/chart) jig colors when the weather's cooler, though. But then again, I could very well be full of hot air. It's happened before, I'm told.... :D

You can catch them on any color as long as it is CHART.

Amen, Bugs and J15!. I'm always interested in the line color discussion regarding camo vs. yellow vs. disappearing red, etc. The yellow REALLY helps me see bites in a shaded dock and I figure if they're biting at something chartreuse (which you don't find naturally in a lake) the line color won't bother them. Works for me anyway....

I haven't tried the solar mint, although I do use the Cabelas Ripcord SI on my reel. Anything other than yellow is too hard for me to see in the shade. Wish I could be of more help.

Oh, and I didn't mean to hijack the thread into line color. Sorry about that...
