not many of you ole tree rat hunters left, I got so many here and no one will come hunt them, oh well the hawks get one now and then'
Perfect day for me. Made good breakfast, didn't rush to get out, nice stroll thru woods killed 8 squirrel and then caught crappie. All without driving far.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
Hubby got 4 squirrels the other day. When one of them hit the ground after shot a hoot owl flew down in top of it. He had to run over hollering to chase owl away. First time for that. Lol. One time while fishing on the Missouri for catfish. We had been catching some dink ones when I noticed an eagle setting in tree not far away. Well next time hubby caught one and held it up to look at it and unhook it I happened to look to the left and here came the eagle straight for the boat. About that time hubby had unhooked the fish and was tossing back into river. Eagle veered away from boat then. Would have been interesting if hubby had been slower on unhooking and releasing.
