Hey everyone, alot of you may not know me too well I get on when I can I've been so busy lately with my new home and adjusting to my new job but things are evening out now and I can hunt for the big crappie more often than ever before. Living in Warsaw has been a great treat to me and my soon to be wife but my point is....I think this spring would be a great oppurtunity too meet everyone down here at truman for a get together when the big crappie start too spawn...I propose a campout at the Berry Bend campground it is in a great location and in my opinion the crappie are bigger in that area because of being on the upper Osage. The campsites are right on the water and the boat ramp is just north around the cove to the campsites. What does everyone think I can check it out with the park attendants when the time comes to reserve the sites that we would all want(I'm only about 10 minutes from berry bend..ha ha) and keep you all posted when they really start coming in on the banks my work schedule is pretty nice so i am on the lake about 90% of my free time when I have no honey-do lists to take care of.Let me know what you all think I think it would be a great time plus..the morels should be out about that time too lots of good places to pick morels in the berry bend area....whats a better meal than fresh crappie fillets and fresh morels?? Hope you all are having a great and safe time at LOZ...my e-mail is navkdog@yahoo.com if anyone wants to e-mail me for some reason... if anyone has any questions about the berry bend area put em on the forum I have fished that area forever...good fishin everyone its only gonna get better!!
I am definately in! What do you think, about the third week in April? Isn't that about the time of the spawn? I am not that familiar with Truman so you local experts will have to tell when the best time would be.

I brought this up also earlier on and i think its a great idea.I also want to add that around Bucksaw is another great spring time location. So we will have to have some debates on location.
LOL Duncan :D You just dont like to look at the sky.Truman can be worse in the wind than LOZ boats.
I've been taking off work the second week of May for the last 3 years. And fishing out of Osage Bluff and doing pretty good. But that time of the year you have alot of cold fronts and spring time rain that can mess you up.
LIFE IS TO SHORT TO FISH WITH A DEAD MINNER AND I WISH I WAS SOMEWHERE HOOKING LIP.
You know my vote upper Grand (Bucksaw).
The cool thing about that is you can trailer to the upper Osage in less than 15 minutes.
I aint suggesting nutin we all seen what happens when i open my mouth![]()

I'm game for Truman in the spring. Will let those who know the lake pick the site.

And that's what happened. The crappie moved on you and we didn't have time to hunt them. It ain't our first rodeo, I promise.
So just get off of the being hard on yourself and get on about the business of catching some fish.
I'm not sure that it would have been more fun catching boat loads. Heck we caught, and visited, and all safe and sound. I'm not gonna ask for more, cause it was perfect.![]()
