    Default Smithville chum?

Was it just coincidence or did the zebra muscle "safe" chemical dump already start?

We were burning gas and pizzin off the fisherman this morning at Camp Branch and saw a big ole catfish a big green carp and some tater chip sized crappie belly up. Seemed odd to see two big fish belly up that close together.

Probably spawning stress on the cats. The crappie were probably caught deep and got the bends coming up. The bass may have been a tournament mortality. If it was a chemical kill it would have been widespread. To my knowledge the big treatment hasn't occurred yet. But I am out of the loop.

Did a google search on the mussel issue up there and didn't see any news that mentioned treatment occurring already, so doubt if they pizened the water just yet. Those things are bad news! Hope they get them under control.

Was just reading where they are laying matts on the bottom in some sections of Lake Tahoe hoping to kill them that way. Tree huggers out there go ballistic if you try to kill something with a chemical and not some "GREEN" method! I'm as environmentally conscious as the next person, but out there they go off the deep end with it. In a lot of Ca. you aren't allowed to use lead bullets 'cause they think the Condors will eat something shot with one and die of lead poisoning. Lead free .06 bullets are about $80 for 20 rounds last I heard
