You know I would not miss that. Besides the oldest has to play in a 7 on 7 game that night. I even had to take off work to help set the thing up. Lori is helping with the Silent Auctions.

I will keep an eye out for ya. I will be over at the fields though most of the time. Lee

Well first time I have been able to get my laptop up to run down here. Cell phone hardly works either.

I have no good news for Crappie a Greeson. It is hotter than heck down here this week. 101 here today at noon. We only caught one Crappie from daylight till about 9:30 am. Fished as many condos as we could around Daisy & Kirby area. Everyone down that way said it was tough.

But since anyone that knows me knows i am not a Crappie Purist. We were over by the Marina at Selfs and my youngest says Dad look at all the White Bass surfacing. So off we go it was like down at Truman or Grand Lake. Water was just boiling. This was not Smithville surfacing I mean big fish. Only problem was we couldn't get nothing to bite. We tried Cicadias, Rattle Traps, Cranks, Minnows. Then I rememeber me and Pat down at Beaver Lake catching them on Pop -R's. I told Lane I was gonna try it. he said he was good. Let me tell you what. The fun had just began, they were not White Bass. But 1-3lb Kentucky Bass with Hybrids mixed in. They did not stay up long, but if they got within casting distance you had a fish on every cast. I will try and post pics when I get home. But I had a 3lb Kentucky come from 2' away in the air and hit a Pop R on the way down. That was a blast.

Now we are at DeGray Lake. The water is clear as gin here and beautiful. I got another 3 lb Kentucky on a shaky Head today. The fish were surfacing here when we got here but I was not going out in the heat. Lookout morning time. I will be after them all morning long tomorrow. I have never been in 180 fow until this evening on DeGray. Islands everywhere, it looks very cool to me.

OK, I am really steamed. 109 degrees on the thermostat at 5pm. I wanted to head back out tonight, but call me a wuss but I don't know if I can even pull myself outta the AC tonight.

Ohh yeah and the best part get this. We rented a slip on the water to avoid having to pull out when we got done fishing. Well at this dock the floatation is some kind of closed cell insulation. I go to get into the boat this morning and I swear on anything the carpet in the boat was moving. I bet there is 10,000 ants in the boat. Worst problem is they bite, I lived in Texas for awhile growing up. I dont think they are fire ants cause those hurt allot worse than these did. But you talk about a huge issue. I imagine I will have to spray the boat down with some kind of Ant spray before I put it back in the garage lol. I have never seen nothing like it before. I hated to complain to the manager at the Marina and sound like a jerk, maybe its just common down here and people are just used to it? I still have a ways to go though.

2 fish was all we got this morning. Thought about hiring a Striper Guide but I dont think we could make it long enough to make it worth the money? And I have not heard very goo reports this week on them due to the heat.

Might head back to Truman early now on Wed? Nothing like familuar water if you know what I mean. Lee
