What is everyone's thoughts on a tournament for Saturday of camp. adjust55 is willing to run it for us and has all the equipment needed if we want to have one. Keep it cheap and have some trophy's made to give out for bragging rights until the next camp. Lets hear some thoughts.
My thoughts would be $30 a boat including big fish. 7 fish limit to weigh in keeps all involved. we could do a draw friday night, or have teams and anyone with out a partner we could post an open seat. 100% payback. pay 1 in 5 or 7 depending on # of boats. No spider rigging to keep it fair to all. Maybe the head of CDC can donate some juice, hats and tee's for all who fish.
What do you think? let's get a few ideas and we can post a couple poll for all who's comming to vote on.

P.S. can some one make this a sticky?

I will do it but I will have my family in the boat, so I vote for the 7 biggest per boat. I will have about four to five people in my boat, or we can just pass on the tournament and just fish for the fun of it.
I think 7 fish per boat would be fine. As well as multible people per boat. Brian you can have as many as you like but your boy will have to fish with me. I have heard how he catchs all the big ones. Maybe we can have a draw for partner tournament on Friday and a regular tournament on Saturday. We could put up a list of boaters and a list of non boaters and have the drawing for partners on Thursday night. Maybe just make it a 7 to noon tournament so people can fish with their normal partners in the afternoon.
I vote no to a "real" tournament but a largest fish or have a smallest 5 legal crappie, would be a cool twist. I think a "real" tournament would scew up the fun factor. I don't like the draw a partner thing to much just for the fact of not wanting to but headeds with anyone in my own boat

For some people tournaments up the fun factor and the draw tournament is great for guys who do not know the lake. It gives them a chance to go out and fish with someone who does. That way they can safely run the lake and learn new spots. I have fished with over 10 to 12 differant people off this site and have never butted heads with any of them. I actually have made some very very good friends from fishing with guys from here.
We will have visitors, and last year there was a lot of fish caught and it was all devoured. I vote for filling livewells for fish fry and making sure our main event comes off without a hitch. This camp is sizing up to be a lot bigger![]()
Crappie.......its whats for dinner!!
I agree with the meeting folks thing thats what camp is all about. I've met some great people on here and fished with many of them, It's just I do and don't do things on my boat some might do or not wanna do. I'm more than willing to let people follow me where ever I go. I guess if you wanna open your boat up to a nonboater then great if not then thats fine as well.
I think a competitive tournament would shy alot of people off who don't know the lake more than attract them. Plus lets face it the lake/situation favors afew folks on here and hurts others.
