Adjust555 warning don't ever ask OSS about minnows, the man don't know what they are. OSS idea of a minnow is any Crappie that don't measure at least 10 inches long! LOL other wise know as Dinks in his book!

The three lake I fish most are Truman, LOZ, Pomme

I use Stren sonic braid in yellow..14# 2# size. I also have some powe pro which is my second choice. You have to work at it some to be a good braid fisherman. I have convinced some older gents to use braid this year.. their biggest problrm is wrapping the line around the pole and things like that.
They have what I call a non functioning off hand think it is because it has had a ciggy in it for the last 50 years.:D:D

It is wise to use a line you can see good. That is why I use high vis yellow. If you can not see the line you can not see when it stops before it should or jumps.

The only time I put mono back on is when it is freezing. The braid makes your eyelits freeze alot quicker as it brings water with it.

I am with Ed on this one. Stren braid all the way. I even use it when fishing the spawn casting to the bank. No complaints from me on it at all.

Ditto. I've used p-line 4# moss for the past couple years, but think I am going to try some braid on my 2 8 1/2 foot poles.
    Thanks all, keep it coming

If you give braid an honest chance you will not go back. There is WAY more + than -

I've heard other folks talk about breaking jigs off in their cover with mono versus staightening the hook and recovering it. Is there really that much difference between pulling a jig until the line breaks, versus pulling a jig until the hook staightens? I would rather save money on jig heads as well as time having to re-rig with another jig and plastic body. Sometimes shaking the tree helps turn the crappie on, by getting the algae loose from the tree. I can straighen a hook out 5-10 times before it finally snaps-them I have to re-rig, but that isn't very often.
