Decided to hit Wappapello this morning to catch my first crappie of the year. Its the first time to put the boat in the water since getting it out of the shop a couple days before Christmas. Had a leak in the prop shaft seal. Turned out the prop shaft was bent so I told them to order one and change the water pump while they had it torn down. Back to my story. Backed the boat in the water and started the motor. Hmmm, no water peeing out of the pee hole. Can't be frozen, I store the boat in my shop. Shut her down and pull up on the parking lot. Checked the pee hole and it was clear. blew air into it to make sure it wasn't clogged. Put it back in the water and started it up. Reved the motor and some water trickled out. Let it idle for a few minutes until the warning tone sounded. Put it back on the trailer and pulled out. Called the boat shop owner on his cell phone. "Hello..." " Hi, This is Chris, Happy New Year"...."Ya, Happy New Year to you."..... "Hey, was that new water pump you put on my boat supposed to pump water?"......"Ya, I'm pretty sure it should"..... "Well it don't"..... "Hmmmm, That aint good."......."Ya, thats what I'm thinking."....... "Well, meet me at the shop and I'll look at it this afternoon." So no New Years crappie for Speck today. Maybe tomorrow.

Sorry to hear it Chris sounds like he is willing to get right back to it and get it fixed for you.
I'd find a new boat mechanic. A good mechanic would have water tested it to make sure it worked .
