    Default Home made slip corks

I think it was rugs or someone talking about them the other day, and I have been making my own for 20 years, I would get the girls in the storeroom to save me a piece or two of styrafoam that would be 1" thick when some would come in packaging..... then I would take this 3/4" gasket punch and punch put 50 to 100 little corks, then just take a 3/32" rod and poke a hole through the center and then slip a piece of coffee stirring straw through it and paint the tops different colors.... I only use these on spawning crappie and with a 1/16 oz jig.... but worked great..... even this last spring I love fishing where on of these cast and retreive guys have gone and go right back through where they were and let one of these little corks sit for awhile and you would be amazed at what slow can do for you......:D

You are even tougher than I thought Monty. Taking the trolling motor away from a guy on his new boat. There are times that slower is better. I like the cork technique in spring also. I use what they call the unbreakable bobber from Wal-mart. Give it a couple little twitchs and pause it. Seems they will hammer it when it gets paused. I belive it is when the bait is actually swinging back down to a vertical position. Fun for the kids also.

Thats pretty slick, just use the foam instead of putting it into the cigar tubes.

You've got the slow part down pat for sure. Slow parking truck, slow walking back down to get in the boat, slow trolling around those tree's, slow peeing all over my boat, slow walking back up to get the truck, slow backing it down the ramp....etc. :D But I will say your certainly not slow on the hook set, you've also got that down pat.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'

Great picture, Frosty. Made me laugh out loud. Nice corks, Monty. You get an "A" for ingenuity.

Love the pic, Frosty. Made me laugh out loud too. That's a classic.
