Default what lakes within one hours drive from North Kansas City

would all you guys recommend. i am tired of battling smithville.

mind you, i have no boat so gonna need some great bank fishing......looking for some slabs

you can find some lakes on the mo d.o.c web site , there is a place there that shows the lakes also shows where they have places fish habitat

thinking about heading out to hillsdale early. anyone have any pointers.....where to go, color they are biting on, depth????

i should mention, i am taking my fiancee, she just got her pink ladies rod and reel and would love to get her hooked into some slabs.

There's Guy B. Park reservation area, which has Tobacco Hills Lake; it's a few miles north of Platte City off of Hwy 371. It has a fishing dock. It's not really known for being a crappie lake, though. Managed for trophy bluegills. Here's a link to some info about it:

Here's a link to the MO Conservation Department Missouri Department of Conservation
On the left side of the page there is a column labeled "Quick Links"... Click on "Conservation Areas" That will take you to the MO Conservation Atlas that lists ALL lands and lakes managed by the Conservation Department. Select the county to search (Clay, Platte, DeKalb)... It's a good place to start. You can run a search on this forum to see if anything's been posted on a particular lake.

Seems like more and more fishermen are looking to the little lakes.

james a reed in lees summit has 7 lakes stocked with eveything ya want gopher lake has some good crappie in it . they also rent jonboats for $5.00 per day just take your trolling motor. once u pay for a boat u can jump from lake to lake and not have to pay for the boat each time.i think all but 2 lakes have boats. good luck
