Fished Thursday to Sunday, lake is still dropping a foot plus per day. Limited two plus people each day within a few hours, lots of 10+ fish and some 12's thrown in each day didn't keep any less than 9. We caught almost all our fish on secondary timber (non visible) 8-10 feet deep in 20+ feet of water on jigs.

Went last Friday but didn't do as well as Fishin. Put in at Stoutsville and went north to the Hwy 24 bridge. Did catch a few nice ones 11-12" but not too many. I was really surprised that the water was not muddy. Hope to go again this weekend if the weather permits.

Fishin, what part of the lake were you fishing?

Good Luck

I think fishing is better now than it was all spring.

The moral of the story seems to be - don't be scared off due to falling water. Is there alot of current from the water draw?

I was up there yesterday and the current wasn't bad. The water was good color, maybe a little clearer in the coves. Caught 10 nice ones and tons of dinks. Minnows seemed to be what they wanted. Most of the 10 came out of one cove anywhere from 50 to 28 ft of water, 6 ft to 10 ft down. Very nice day on the water plus everything worked, thats always nice. Sprinkled a little, but being on the water in the middle of august having an 80 degree day was great. Good luck..

Fished there last week, put in at the high water ramp at spalding beach. Tried the deeper water ~40 foot, not much action. Ended up finding a visible clump of stumps in about 14 foot of water, and had 23 keepers (was with a buddy) and more 8 to 8 1/2 inch fish than we could count all off the same place. Fished minnows roughly 8 foot deep.

N2,

We fish the dam area, all my fish were within a mile of the J bridge. Sorry, didn't go this weekend, not sure how it was.
