June 6-7 Free Fishing Weekend in Louisiana: Anyone can fish recreationally in Louisiana on this weekend without the LA Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries’ license normally required for recreational fishing.
Louisiana State Parks will also provide free day-use admission to any State Park facility on Saturday, June 6 as part of a statewide "Day in the Park" celebration. The public can utilize State Park day-use facilities including boat launches and fishing piers during the June 6 celebration. Free family fishing events are scheduled June 6 at these State Parks: Bayou Segnette SP, Westwego; Chicot SP, Ville Platte; Fontainebleau SP, Mandeville; Lake Claiborne SP, Homer; Poverty Point Reservoir SP, Delhi; and Sam Houston Jones SP, Lake Charles.
