Thread: Sardis crankbait report

Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is the short fish are alive and well but limits can be had but it's going to take a while. The bad news is I had a 5:1 throw back ratio this weekend. They seemed to like the bright colors over dark and definitely preferred the planer board verses fishing off the back or the sides. Eighty degree water can be found late in the afternoon between the six and eight makers on the coontown side but the action was much slower and it still produced short fish. There wasn't much of a pattern in terms of depth either. I caught just as many keeper fish 60 ft behind the boat as I did 120 ft behind the boat.

Thanks yikess, I plan on coming down this weekend to the get together and have never been on Sardis. I plan on pulling cranks with a pontoon. My 72 year old Mom is coming up from Lake, MS so I hope we can find some fish.

It darn sure ought to be interesting this weekend up there with all of us yahoo's on Sardis who've never pulled Cranks trying to learn how to do it. Can't believe it's finally THE WEEK!!!

Just heard from Pstone while ago. He's on Sardis today. 3 keepers and a bunch of shorts last I heard.

4-1 throwbacks to keepers.....water was 91 on south side at 2:30.....

Anybody tried pulling cranks down by Holiday Lodge lately?

We fished 5.5 hours for 11 keepers. No 2 pound + fish though...25-30 FOW

guy and his friend wore them out this past weekend up there with several huge fish

They just aren't on the summer pattern yet. If the 90 degree weather holds I think these fish will get there quick.
