Thread: Lakeview - Saturday 5/10

Let's hear the nitty-gritty...There were boats all over that lake on Saturday before the storms moved in. What did everyone find?

I personally got there around 7:00am and for the first hour the fish were on fire. I boated about 5 good ones before they seemed to shut off for some reason. I assumed that I needed to switch colors as the sun was threatening to come out. But try as I may I was only able to catch about 1 fish per hour.

After catching 2 monster bluegills on my crappie jig I started bluegill fishing with my fly rod and eventually with the jig pole too. But only got a couple more.

Looks like the girls have moved on into the shallows. I kept 13 crappie from about 10 - 14 inches. One was a male and all the females still had their eggs.

Anyone go to lakeview today? trying to decide if i want to try in the AM for a couple hours.

Started about 6:30am caught 1 nice crappie on jig first 2 hours and then decided to try a little bream with a cricket. Ended up with 14 big river bluegills and one 1.5 pound crappie on the cricket, left at 11. Had a good many bites on the cricket, but missed the fish assumed some of those were crappie. Those were some of the best bluegill I have seen on that lake and I have fished it for 27 years, thought I was catching Tunica bream. Could only find a bite here and a fish there.
