saw this on the main forum and brought it over here.. Can you tell what kind it is? That's right, Asian Carp..the ones that are destroying the fishing habitat..any doubt how big they get should be put to rest.

That puts it in perspective. Love to find the slime that started the spread of that disease
Can't imagine getting hit by THAT thing as I scoot across the lake...I batted one down at Tunica that I guessed was around 15 lbs...That one would break your back!

once they get over 20 lbs or so they can't jump out of the water, that's why you don't see the really big ones.
I heard there are two different species of them, something like
"bighead" and "silver" the bigheads are the ones that get huge,
but the silvers are the ones that do most of the jumping, or
so I'm told.

Wow...that thing is a monster. I might lose that wrestling match
" I practice catch and Release....into the grease."
Me and a buddy caught a 42 pound big mouth carp on a 14 foot Wally Marshall trolling pole. We were using 8 lb yellow Stren line and a #4 painted octopus hook. It took about 45 minutes to land the fish. We were lucky and were out in the open water. We were in a 20 foot Basscat and he drug it around like a toy boat. We just followed with the trolling motor. Once the fish was worn down I put on some gloves and grabbed it in the mouth and pulled it on board. We had the MS fish biologist look at it in case we had a record. We missed it by a few pounds!
