Yeah it sucked.... High winds, and about 40 boats within sight in the only place out of the waves....
We finished 7th, with 9.79.
Solomon and Walters won with 10.62.....If that tells you the kind of day it was....
BTW Congrats to TLOW and partner on their 6th place Amateur finish!
Thanks Pstone. I got to take another ruff ride from Greys Port to the dam today. I feel like somebody beat the hell out of me today.
TLOW OF HERNANDO
TLow haven't you learned west wind @ Grenada = BAD ride & broke boat.
Congrats fellows on catching them on a bad day. It is very tough when everyone is fishing the same area for the same fish. Glad everyone made it back safe.

this trip to grenada will end my crappie season, and congrats to those whose endured to the end.I had longed to fish this famous lake, and it kicked my butt, or the wind did. Drove 9 hours and caught 0 fish in practice, our 5 speed trolling motor on 4 was going backwards, and 5 was too fast this was on fri. practice.I was woke up sat. morning at 1.30 by the front desk telling us to go to the bathroom, or lobby because of a tornado, heck of a 1st day there. but I was still excited to fish sat.. Fished in front of a red bluff and the day started great befour we could get all our poles out, we boated a 14 incher. But that big smile I had on my face was greeted by high winds that changed direction just enough that the bluff did'nt block it. befour it got to us we boated another 13 3/4. I could see 7 in livewell but it did'nt happen did;nt get another keeper after 8.30, Oh well we knew it was going to be tough, did'nt even go to weigh in. left grenada at 2.00 I got back home at 1.00 sunday morning worned out, but somehow still believe that can be a great lake at the right time. Thanks to terry whaley and poprivers for making this trip possible..
After reading this and talking to my friends that spent the week over there, I'm glad I didn't try it. I can fish badly on good days. Sounds like most of the better fish where in or near open water and they just couldn't fish it on Tournament day. 9.7 is still a dang good stringer Patrick anywhere you go. I'm proud of you buddy. Keep after 'em. Don
Yeah wind was THE factor. All the fish we caught were bad skinny...Couldn't get them thick ones to bite...Can't say I'm happy with the ending, but it could have been a lot worse....
Did good, Patrick. Did you encounter Minnerman out there?
This year will hold the record for foul weather fishing no doubt.
Congrats to all of you that placed. Sounds like they couldn't have picked a worse day for the tourney. But atleast everyone came out of it without incident.
You can't fish with a hung line!
You got that right, John. This spring made up for last year's abnormally mild conditions. It has gotten to where part of me wants to go fishin, and part of me doesn't want to go fight the wind. Like I've said before on here, you can't get out of the wind on Grenada......I don't care where it's coming from, and where you get......it's gonna come to ya!!!!!
But again, I'm content that there's jillions of little crappie fry swimmin' around out there as a result of some foul weather![]()
If I Ain't Crappie Fishin', I'm Thinkin' About It............
