    Default Food for thought

We've had some discussion about who's to do what and who'll bring what on the week-end of the crappie camp. I think one approach would be that all of us who can bring cookers, condiments, refreshments, fish, rooster fries, what ever and plan on cooking your own specialty on Sat. afternoon. If you cover yourself and some extra, then everyone will have something to eat. I'm not affraid of red beans and rice, gumbo, boudin, fish, hushpuppies, slaw, fried taters, fried biscuits, whatever. We have no way of knowing how many folks will show up and it would be difficult to estimate how much of what to cook.

What you guys and gals think. We need to decide what to do for Sat. Night. Friday night we will muddle through. I can cook some stuff for both nights, but for the gala event we need something done that all of us will enjoy and remember.

John, I don't know now if I can make it, but If I can, I will bring a cooker and some oil, softdrinks, paper plates, plastic forks knives and spoons. Offer to help cook, and what ever else I can do.

Regardless of what yall do friday night, I would suggest the big fish fry (if thats what yall plan on doing) to be done on saturday evening, normally the majority of the people attending will be there on saturday. Some may not make it til after the food is gone on friday night if they have a ways to drive and have to work that day.

I have a cooker. Can bring that and some oil for my big pot. I can bring Bottled water and napkins or paper plates...Fish fry, Hush puppy mix and maybe some fries...I can cook all of this too in my cooker. I have a one burner set up. Been used last few days. If you are bringing equipment test it before you tote it all the way here. AND A FULL BOTTLE OF GAS I WILL HAVE ON MINE. I can bring a great big cooler too for food and drinks...And I can bring some ICE...BUT if someone works at a hotel or is staying in one let me know.

    Default McDonald's

I don't know if ya'll have ever heard of this before, but if you will go to McDonalds and speak with the manager, ask if they can fill your ice chest with ice.
They are supposed to do that for fisherman. I've never done it, but have been told this to be true.
Just thought I'd pass this along.

THEN WE HAVE A PLAN, right? We can cook whatever shows up, be it fish, animal, or road kill.

Don't be bashful about making suggestions. That makes it all better. This thing is for everyone, so think out loud.
