Default Scared and wondering ( side x side fishing )

I'm trying to decide if i should consider buying a Millenium Sidekick or any other brand bases for fishing next to partner . I already have the Millenium seats . I switched from some high dollar fold down padded fishing seat because the Millenium are so much more confortable . Heres my concern i'm on the large size and i don't know if my boat is wide enough to have the room for two people up front . I feel ike i might fall in the lake if i moved to much . Does anyone know how wide you need boat to be for side x side fishing to work and be safe . I have a 19 foot bass boat but like most it gets narrow up front , it has a flipping deck so back behind pedital hole there is plenty of room . I know you can adjust bases to fit but what about my big butt and someone else with the seats not being to close to gunnel or top cap . Are maybe i ought to get a base and fix it for a unbrella and just go fishing and let partner sit in back .
Any ideas dood or bad excepted and appreciated .

I fish out of a Triton 189TRX using the sidekick and love it. The good thing about that sidekick is how adjustable it is so you can really put the seats as far wide and as far back as you want. Two big guys can sit side by side using that set-up and I still feel comfortable getting around and a 189 isn't a big boat by any means. Let me know if it would help and I can text you a pic of how it looks in the front set up and how much room is left on the sides.

I fish two out of the front on my 175 tracker. I dont think it would be a issue unless its a very narrow boat. One thing i would recomend and thats to just go ahead and put down two extra pedistal bases instead of the sidekick...

I use the sidekick in a very wide up front ranger. Even tho I have a lot of room I swing to the outside to get in and out because the side kick extensions are relatively high. I can step over them but it's easier to twist outward. Having said that, I love the sidekick even more so than the individual pedstals it replaced. You can fish from the exact position you want.

On an aluminum boat I'd want at least a 60 inch bottom for stability. On a glass boat I think it would just come down to how wide is the front deck and do you have room, stability shouldn't be much of an issue on most glass rigs.

Look at a Cumberland Crappie seat base, I love mine easier to go up the middle.

60" minimum deck width for 3 across the front seat bases, set at 32" apart center to center. You will basically need close to the same width to use sidekicks comfortably (squeezed all the way together they are 30 1/2" center pin to pin) , granted you can pivot them back some if your deck allows, then you will need longer poles keep in mind. If your poles are 3 feet inside the boat and your using say 16 footers, then you only got 13' foot clearance from the bow. I agree with Erin, if your boat allows put in seat bases, if not and your front deck is to narrow then yes, you can fish a man off the front and the back and both catch fish.
