Thread: Scared and wondering ( side x side fishing )

I fish out of a Triton 189TRX using the sidekick and love it. The good thing about that sidekick is how adjustable it is so you can really put the seats as far wide and as far back as you want. Two big guys can sit side by side using that set-up and I still feel comfortable getting around and a 189 isn't a big boat by any means. Let me know if it would help and I can text you a pic of how it looks in the front set up and how much room is left on the sides.

I fish two out of the front on my 175 tracker. I dont think it would be a issue unless its a very narrow boat. One thing i would recomend and thats to just go ahead and put down two extra pedistal bases instead of the sidekick...

I use the sidekick in a very wide up front ranger. Even tho I have a lot of room I swing to the outside to get in and out because the side kick extensions are relatively high. I can step over them but it's easier to twist outward. Having said that, I love the sidekick even more so than the individual pedstals it replaced. You can fish from the exact position you want.

On an aluminum boat I'd want at least a 60 inch bottom for stability. On a glass boat I think it would just come down to how wide is the front deck and do you have room, stability shouldn't be much of an issue on most glass rigs.

Look at a Cumberland Crappie seat base, I love mine easier to go up the middle.

i fish out of a 18ft express. my three pedestal mounts are made straight across. i'm 6'2" 350 and have no problem fishing side by side.
