Eagle is cut off from the ms river and isn’t affected by river fluctuations unless it gets high and other rivers back up causing problems... Id bring the boat

"My company is sending me to Vicksburg, MS the first full week of March and I was thinking about pulling my boat down to fish Ross Barnett the weekend before and possibly after. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Will be set up to spider rig. I am not looking for GPS coordinates or anyone's honey hole, just some pointers please!"
I posted this a couple weeks ago and got a lot of much appreciated feedback, and it was suggested that I try Eagle Lake. Now I have a small dilemma....I will be leaving next Friday to head that way and I need to figure out if I am still going to pull my boat or if I should go ahead and book a flight. I have looked at the weather forecast and the river forecast and it isn't looking to promising. Does anyone have any advice or info on water levels and what is still considered fishable? Thank you!

The river (Mississippi) doesn't affect Eagle so water levels are fine. As for weather, always a crap shoot. Maybe someone will chime in with a report. Been wanting to go but just hasn't worked out yet. Good luck.

Eagle can be one of the best places to be during March. It will also be a lot easier and quicker to pattern the fish than Barnett

I drove over and looked at it about 3 weeks ago after you inquired since I never heard of it and dating a gal living in Jackson. Bigger lake than I anticipated. Local was putting in doing to catfishing and said it was lower than normal and nothing was being caught. But again, that was 3 weeks ago. I suspect the wind can be an issue like a lot of lakes.
