You can launch there now. The road going out to Indian mound is under water. The Corp destroyed the gravel road going out there last fall. The wardens complained about it because first responders can't get to that boat ramp. Fell on deaf ears. You can make it there but there's a few soft spots when it's rained.

what did they dredge ? There's a massive sandbar in front of ramp at low water.

They dredged in front of the ramp. They didn't reach that sand bar. They also removed all the mud and silt off the concrete ramp. It's only usable with water flow from rain runoff and high lake level. Total waste of money. But its great for bank fishermen they love it. It's too far from main lake to fish for crappie. If the lake is at the level to fish there. Good luck. They are in thick cover.

I'm so sick of looking at that . It was a mistake of epic proportion. The politicians responsible for that ramp should be sued by the taxpayers.

Many ages ago I go with a coworker to #7 bridge. It was a gravel ramp then and we couldn't launch. We end up walking the bank under the bridge and trestle. We are catching crappie. I hear a noise on the bridge, hey Don, is that your truck? It was a long walk to a phone. A long wait for someone to show up and a longer wait for a ride home. He got his boat back 7 months later, never found his truck.

They didn't need to spend all that $$$ at Wyatt's either on a parking lot. Never was a problem parking in the rocks/sand really.

Dang that's no good, what did he do leave the keys in the ignition? And was the store just north of the bridge (Betty Davis BBQ now) not there then? I just assumed that old store was probably originally a bait shop back in the day considering the proximity to the river.
