    Thumbs down Garmin


    I just had a Garmin 93sv echomap plus and panoptix on my boat. The preloaded maps do not show very much detail on Ross Barnett and Sardis. The Garmin rep on the phone said he was surprised at the lack of detail. I bought Garmin for the Panoptix. I am glad I have two Lowrance units on the console. I would never have a Garmin for high speed running with out better maps. The rep said he would tell the engineering department that they need to map RB and Finish Sardis.

    You got that right. If it wasn't for Panoptix I wouldn't have bought it. I have two Lowrance units on the console and a portable HB and all have great maps.

    Garmin has bought Navionics so you may see some upgrades in Garmin mapping in the near future ...
