    Default Bait Tank Filter

What do you guys use to filter your water while holding bait in your tank?? Tired of having to change water every 5 or 6 days, too i'm going back to a bigger tank if I can find what I want.

I use this filter for my 150qt cooler. Get the replacement filters from amazon. It almost does too good of a job though, it filters the chemical from the Finer Shiner. Keep the water cold and you shouldn't have any problems. My wife feeds mine (she says they're hungry) so i gotta change the water and filter about once a week, anyhow. If you dont feed them you will get much better service out of the filters. I just spray the filters off with a water hose and reuse a couple times before swapping with a new one.

I made one out of a 5 gallon bucket, 3/4” pvc, 3/4” uniseal, a bunch of air filters and a small pump from harbor freight.

Just get one of those cattle/horse troughs with an aerator. If you've got a crap load of miners in there and feed them a ton, change the water once a week and your good. 40 gallons of water is a heck of a lot cheaper than any kind of filter I have seen. Don't try to keep them during the warmer months, "ever'body's pull'n cranks anyhow", and your all good. Just my humble opinion

John this is what I use it filters and aerates at the same time. It is completely submersed in the water to keep the motor cooled. I have had mine for over a year now with no trouble you just clean the filter with water and it is good to go again when the filter gets dirty. I used a small piece of noodle to hold the air hose out of the water works very good for the price.

Add a layer of LUMP charcoal to your bucket filter.

I use a 5 gallon bucket with bio balls in in but could use gravel. Make sure to Ck levels often as once the filter starts working the water comes acidic and you will need to add lime to water. I use an old sock and just hang in waters. When I think about it or Ck on tank I give it a shake or two and it releases the lime
