I need info from someone who lives around there. Can you launch a boat at Pat's Bluff ramp? (and stay on the concrete ramp, not sand or mud).

If not, how much more water do we need?

I know you can not put in at coontown. I think Clear needs 2-3 more feet. Have not been down there in a while to check. Not sure on Pats Bluff

Well I went and I saw alot of dry dirt. Went from marker 7 to all the way to the last ramp toward hwy7. Not a single ramp had water to it. There were a couple of boats that had put in the river by portage to the river bank but no back down the ramp the easy way. The water is about 200 yards from entering the mouth of the cove west of the 7 marker. The upper end of the lake is about dry, I dont know how deep the water is in the stickups but the base of the trees are underwater. Yesterday the lake was at 243. Plenty of time to put out more attractors if you desire. The hand grabbers have the weights in place and alot of tire anchors in but the fish boxes for the most part are not down yet.

The trip was not a total waste I found a good weighted cork in a snag. The yo yo I found was still about 30' to high in a tree to get...ITS MINE dont anyone get it before I do. Yea I know its public but!!!!

Does the fishing get good as soon as the water level goes up? Or does it take a few weeks for the fish to adjust? Wanting to come down for the first time the last week of March. Thanks

T, where did you put in? Did you look at anything on the S. side? I know Clear Creek is not usable, but still wondering about Pat's Bluff or Coles Point.

I guess I will go up the lake from Engr's Point tomorrow and check them.

I rode in from piney point on My 4 wheeler. I looked only on the north side of the lake. I did not find one ramp that you could put a boat in. I did not check the ramps near the dam I did ride by those others on the 310 side.

i was by pat's bluff yesterday, i put in a Eng pt it looked like concrete to water probably not very deep though. I'd have tried it but if the wind is ok down there then it's faster for me to put in at the dam and ride thatn ride all the way around to pats. I was trying the mouth of clear creek there was one empty truck and trailor in the lot.

FP, I was in the area yesterday, too. I watched a couple of folks put in small john boats and it was tough. There is not enough water at Pat's Bluff to launch a big boat or pontoon. Need about a foot more water in the lake.
Did you find any fish in the Clear Creek area? I managed to catch some decent fish fishing jigs 10" or 12" deep in structure around the river channel.

Very little luck picked up a couple decent fish 10 ft deep but couldn't duplicate results as the wind picked up. Picked up one nice one over the stakebeds n edge of clear creek, trying to figure em out i need to find some cover in deep water will try north a bit next time looking for cover in the rivewr channel and cover on the secondary ledges off the channel. If you find em send a note. Tough drive for less than a good dinner. Guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Looking forward to some catching.
