My buddy had to babysit today so I got to go out for a couple of hours this morning and put out the CB's and give it a try. Had a great 2 hours, put in, cranked the big motor, moved about 200 yards and never cranked it again until I came in. One time I had all 4 rods with fish on. 7 to 10 FOW and no hot color but I believe white was a little the better. I keep 10 for eating and I'm guessing I threw back twice that many, only keep the biggest and a couple that were bleeding. The 4 biggest here were 14". 2 males, 1 of the 14" and one of the small ones. Eggs are very bright.

Lake Okatibbee in east-central MS. I was using 300 Bandits and Cabela's Deep Grave Diggers. Didn't really see any difference in the 2 or in the color alltho usually white or red seems the best colors. This was 3/2/07, the next day after that bad front came thru as you MS folk know and I really didn't think it would be too good. But just when you think you know a little they throw you a curve, the bite was hot.Originally Posted by tcounty

Do you ever tie a slider jig on the end trailer hook 18-24" back. I have been thinkin of given this a try.

Nope, I have my hands full with 4 rods out trying to keep them clear of each other. I have heard it is a good method.Originally Posted by mchappy

Nice :D

That is a killer combination. I'll only troll cranks with a slider trailer from now on. My catch doubles when I do that.Originally Posted by mchappy

Hey Speck,
How about describing that trailer rig?
I attatch the Bandit crank to the main line with a snap swivel. I also replace the front hook with a red #6 treble hook. I don't know if it makes a difference but most of the fish I catch is on the red hook. I then tie 12 to 14 inches of line to the rear treble and tie a slider jig to the other end.
