Any updates or fishing reports on the spillway or lake? I am going in the morning but have not made my mind on whether to go to the lake or the spillway. Does any one know what the water level is in the spillway?

the lake and the spillway are low last time I looked yesterday ( thursday ). The crappie were not doing good yesterday so my partner and I caught some shad and went catfishing on the lake from the bank and caught somewhere between 120 lbs and 150 lbs of fish before the the storms came through a little after noon. the biggest ones were around 20 lbs or so, it was fun.

were yall tight lining? or fishing with a cork? hopefully we will be able to locate some crappie in the morning.

how low is the lake? i live in ky and was debating on taking the boat to the lake the end of this month but i was wandering about water lvls. Is it like some of the lakes in ky in staying in the creek channel? or higher then that?

Check again before you come down. there is not enough in the lake right now,unless you like catfishing,thats about the only thing on thats real good at present.

the lake is VERY low right now.. i went to the lake Saturday via 4-wheeler and the wind was terrible. i fished there for about a hour and a half with no luck at all then went to the spillway. i caught one at the spillway and seen about 4 or 5 more caught. the ones i seen caught though were without a cork if you know what i mean. the water level at the spillway is good enough to catch some fish but the weather would have to cooperate for that to happen.

Hey Butla21, what time where you there on 4 wheeler? I rode in that morning and stayed about an hour and half. Was only on other guy in there when I went and I spoke to him for awhile! Was that you? The wind was very bad!

that wasnt me.. i did see that there were 2 trucks parked at the hernando point boat ramp though so i am assuming that was you and the other guy that you talked about?. me and two of my other buddies parked at the gravel road at the big bend right before you get to the boat ramp. A guy on a 4-wheeler did come up and start catfishing by where we were though.

Hey there I am comin down there April 6-8 from Illinois so I wont be real familiar with the lake and i was wanting to know any good jig or bait tips you might have or good spots or where to fish in general. I am bringing my son 13 and my buddy and his son (15) and we are just wanting to know whats good and wheres good so we can make the best out of this trip for them. So if you have any tips or information for me could you please send it to me?

At that time I might would look at going to one of the other lakes(sardis,enid,grenada,ross barnett). Reason being that a lady that worked for the core said that they would not raise arkabutla until may 1st. unless we have an unbelievable amount of rain then the level will stay real low. they said that this lake was for flood control and the main engineers could care less about fishing
