I used an Eagle Ultra 11 (no.2). I am not sure if they still sell this or not. I think it was in the $300 range. It's not a real expensive unit but it is easy to operate & it does a good job for me.

    Howard, welcome home.
I would wait and check out whats new at a Bas Pro or other store. The technology has really moved forward. And there is lots to choose from.
Last time I was over in the sand box, I caught some fish that looked like a cross between a permit a tuna and a crappie. Man did they fight. I patrolled in the persian / arabian gulf.

Had a nice long post all done and hit submit and poof, it was gone.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Listed in order of cost/feature

    Eagle Fishmark 480
    Eable FishElite 480
    Eagle 320C
    Lowrance X67C
    Lowarance LMS 332C
    Lowrance LMS-111c-HD
    Humminbird 997SI

Starting at $150 and going up to $2K fully loaded.

I'm on the bottom end with a Mark 480, but it's a dang good unit.

    Welcome home.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

When to BPS last night........... they were getting ready for that Spring Sale thing they do. They had alot of last year models marked down on a table. It might be worth it to go check them out................

    Welcome back too!
