Thread: Okatibbee 2/22

Rickey and I went out for about 4-5 hrs yesterday, didn't get started until 10:30. Finished with 15 crappie and 2 green trout. Most of the crappie came from 10 to 14 FOW, normal stuff. Rickey wanted to rattle-trap for some shallow bass just before we left and we moved up into a clay bottom cove. He put 2 crappie poles in holders and was dragging along the bottom and I was casting a crappie jig doing the same in about 3 to 6 FOW and we caught about 5 keepers and am I confused. Guess the crappie are too, think I will try the old jig and cork next time out. Surface temp in main lake 58 and in the cove 52 degrees. Pink and white seemed the best color. Had about 10 throw-backs. 1 big black crappie.

Steve I live in Petal and try to get up to Ok. to wade fish each year. Should be getting close to being right. I'm hoping you'll keep posting the conditions there as I pretty much depend on this forum to figure out when to come up. I used to live about a mile from Pine Springs landing and fished it a good bit. Now I only wade it three or four times a year so again your posts are appreciated. Next week it may turn on if the weather will stay warm for a few days. Thanks for your post.
