I can't answer for Mississippi guys but on Kentucky Lake they seem to keep right on going at night. My catch rate during the spawn has often times shot up after dark. Specially for black crappie. And the best thing is everyone else is back on shore watching Andy Griffith and eating popcorn and I'm working the shallows alone knocking their eyes crossed. Their snoozing and I'm at the cleaning station at 1 a.m. cleaning my limit. Then I get to sleep in. Not a bad trade off plus I'm eating crappie for lunch the next day and the others are fighting a dozen boats for a stake bed.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I know dock light jigging picks up as the spawn begins but never have I fished spawning crappie at night in the shallows. I will try it in a few weeks. I always fish the basins of big sloughs and creeks at night with lights. I also use jigs around lighted docks at night. I even troll at night. At times I will put a glow stick ahead of my baits trolling.

My Dad and I left Holliday at 3:30 AM 2 years ago and had 22 in the boat when the sun started to come up. We always siad we'd go at night ,but after fishing all day I'm to tired to go.
