The proof is in the pudding. Or at least the pics!!! Although this is not a digital scale, I have weighed a 5lb bag of sugar with this scale and it was dead to center!
If anyone wants a few lessons on fishing the Ross Barnett Spillway, just look me up!!!

Nice ens!
NICE great haul!!
Darn gooduns perchmaster! You got to remember to hold them arms out next time though. Good to see some pictures. I know for a fact its a bunch of work but you did a great job. Any idea how long those big ones where? Great post, Don
youdamanperchmaster! slabhappy!
What do you mean "hold your arms out"? I thought you were supposed to have them as close to you as possible to get an accurate look at their size. The biggest fish was 16.5" long and the other one was 16". They are the two biggest slabs of the season for me. I have only caught one fish larger than the 3lb'er in my lifetime and it came from the Ross Barnett Resevoir, not the spillway, right next to the dam. It tipped the scales at 4.25 lb!

I was wondering how long a healthy fat 3 pounder would/could be. I caught two last weekend that were 15.5 inches. They where fat as could be but only weighed 2.5,& 2.4 I'm may have to come to Miss. this spring for a week or so and see what all the talk is about. Just quit my job to fish Crappie full time. I'm not a meat fisherman, just like to catch 'em. My old man was raised near Crowder and I'd like to come see it once in my lifetime. Maybe walk up and down main street one time.Originally Posted by Perchmaster
I can catch 'em this size pretty often but I don't think east Texas or North louisiana can hold a candle to the chunks yall have over there.
I hold my arms out to make up for my large self. Thats the Dodge motel. Any parking lot is my campground.

Well, I am 6'4/350lb! I like to hold 'em up close so you can see how big they are compared to me. And as far as the "MISSISSIPPI" thing goes, come on down!!! You don';t have to go to one of what they call "THE BIG THREE". I have no problem finding and catching fish on my home lake, Ross Barnett. Although the fish are harder to find, they are just as good as the flood control resevoir fish.
